In this monthly Maker Space feature, we go way off topic. I haven’t updated since October, and I’ve been busy!

I kicked off the holiday season by doing one of my new favorite things: refreshing glitter on vintage ornaments. These beauties were covered in blackened glitter so I scraped that off using a small straight pin, dusted them and then used a small paintbrush to place glue where the old glitter had been. Then I dusted them with fresh glitter and VOILA! They are gorgeous once more. I've done this many times while watching TV and it's SO rewarding. I did a couple of tiny embroidery projects. Here is a snowflake that looks more like a spirograph, a little kit of a bird in winter and some lovely little snowflakes. I've been missing embroidery and was happy to dive back in.
I also jumped back into a long-running project I have been neglecting. The aim is to embroidery all the dresses of the First Ladies of the United States. This is a fun project that pushes my skills. This dress was inspired by one worn by Elizabeth Kortright Monroe! It's silk thread on linen with scraps of lace and some hand painted elements.
I made some of my World Famous (heh) Spiced Brandy and some Limoncello to give as gifts! I also made custom labels for the bottles using my Cricut!

You can find my Limoncello recipe here! I bought the bottles on Amazon. The Cricut will be playing a bigger role below. I have the Maker 3 and I highly recommend it if you’re considering a cutting machine.
