View-Master Window Display, 1948
A peek inside the very first View-master Dealerscope magazine.
This window display was featured in the very first View-Master Dealerscope magazine. The Dealerscope was a publication exclusively for View-Master dealers, and it featured a mix of behind-the-scenes news, new releases, testimonials and examples of successful selling efforts like the one above.
In researching this, I discovered that a terrible fire in downtown Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on March 23, 1965, resulted in $5 million in damages including the destruction of five buildings on South Main street that housed nine businesses — including Hurjax. According to reports, roughly 150 firefighters from Wilkes-Barre and neighboring towns worked for 20 hours to put out the fire.
I couldn’t find any information on what the fire did to their View-Master sales efforts.

Cool photo. Look like Model Cs? I too am wondering what on Earth Sawyers put out at that time that could be deemed "men only"! I wonder if the "women only" reels were flowers or something deemed "feminine"...
