The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in View-Master Reels
A somewhat complete history of the TMNT in 3D
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles debuted as a comic book in 1984, went on to become a long-running cartoon series and, in the early 1990s, spawned three live-action films: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993).
There are many more TMNT adaptations, including another TV series that ran from 2003-2009, and, of course, the latest big screen animated adaptation opens August 3: Teenage Mutant Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
In honor of the new film, I’ve compiled a round-up of View-Master’s TMNT titles for anyone interested in picking them up.

There were plans in the early 1990s for a TMNT viewer that looked like a turtle’s face but it was shelved.
And the TMNT even got their own VR View-Master set. I don’t collect these, I don’t like these, and I am not interested in learning anything about them. But I do know this exists. And I wanted to let you know in case you care (but you probably shouldn’t).
