Final Friday of the month? It’s time to talk crafts and projects. Feel free to talk about your own in the comments! I would love to see them.
And we’ll be back to View-Master next week!
So, I’ve been obsessing over these dried-out paint-by-number kits I had in my craft stash. And the results have been mixed to say the least. But I’m sharing the, good, the bad, and the very ugly, because I think it’s imperative we all give ourselves permission to fail. And fail again! Here’s what I failed at this past month:
This is kind of a mess! And I don’t even like the Southwest theme? Heh. So the one thing I liked was that I think I did a pretty good job on mixing the colors to get the shadows right in the bowl:
Anyway, so that happened. And then this mess was even more difficult:
The pears look like potatoes, no big deal. 😂
Setting the scene with my cool little lady vase.
So I spent a time of time on this one, and I actually feel like it worked out pretty well? the white flecks are not missing paint but dust. Not as good as I was hoping, but it’s certainly a win compared to some of the others! And I think the dog turned out well!
And here’s my hilariously terrible work in progress. I can’t get these eyes to look right. IT TURNS OUT PAINTING THE MONA LISA IS NOT EASY? Who knew? Ha!
Thanks for reading and indulging me in these Final Fridays emails. Feel free to share your own projects in the comments!
Love the one with the lady and her dog
That dog is indeed lookin' fly! I like the details in that one, the posters and all.
In-progress paintings have great potential for hilarity.
