Every Friday I send out a real love letter that I’ve transcribed from a stack I bought at the flea market (until they run out — and we’re getting closer all the time). Missed one? Check the chronological list.
Fun fact: I had to unschedule today’s letter when I randomly found this one at 9:15 p.m. last night! So I had to quickly pull this together. All apologies if it’s sloppier than usual!

Aww. Our timelines are so closely aligned!
(22 days)
I assume this is a countdown to when they are back together.
Darling Kay,
I have the previous pages, which I wrote yesterday and left at home. I wanted to mail them this morning, but — rush, rush, rush — I even forgot my pen (fountain pen).
Mr. Koch hasn’t been in for the last two days and there isn’t much for me to do. There really isn’t much for anyone to do. Just generally dull and routine. I don’t feel much like working anyway.
Russ was an early anti-work guy! Truly, nothing ever changes. Friendly reminder: He works at the CTA but we don’t know what his job title is.
I think all I will do tonight is mount the speaker for my sister’s room on a piece of plywood. The rest of the enclosure will have to wait until next weekend when I can get over to Hines.
It’s weird he doesn’t just say his sister’s name. But I appreciate it all the same.
And, of course, philosophy. Glaucon, Thrasymachus, Adeimantus, Socrates, and the rest and me will make a grand old ancient Greek group tonight. I feel a certain kinship with these Greeks right now, but it doesn’t have anything to do with philosophy. Thanksgiving can’t come too soon.
I have no idea how that’s connected, but ok.
I can see where this letter is going to be short. There isn’t too much to say (that isn’t in the other letter) and besides the boss is floating around and I’ve got to look legitimately busy.
My desk is littered with survey notes and drawing equipment but all the writing is not especially convincing.
I remember writing long letters to my friends at boring jobs back in the day.
Bur this is enough to let you know that I miss you much, am thinking about you and hope you have good luck, sweet dreams and that you sleep tight and take extra good care of yourself.
Love ad infinitum,
Tiger
